Reinventing a
neo-classical
jewel
On the Paseo de la Castellana, next to the
Paseo de Recoletos, the Gran Meliá Fénix
Hotel is located. This is a majestic building
from the nineteenth century that now has
received a new configuration, which includes
a restaurant on the roof, and a redesign
of 56 rooms, including all suites plus
the Presidential Suite, under the charge of
the architecture studio of Alvaro Sans.
The sobriety of neo-classical architecture and
the elegance that has characterized the Gran
Meliá Fénix hotel during its 70 years of existence,
has been reinforced with this reform that
has updated its ‘British’ style. Now the rooms
and the exclusive Red Level area have gained in
freshness and there is now much more luxury
in the bathrooms.

y las habitaciones Red Level cuentan con
ducha de gran tamaño en 3 posiciones (bañera,
ducha de mano y ducha cascada). En las
suites, además, se incorporan bañeras exentas
que permiten la posibilidad de disfrutar de los
canales televisivos, gracias a la incorporación
de un cristal transparente.

COCINA ABIERTA CON VISTAS
La segunda gran novedad de esta
renovación es la apertura del restaurante
Aduana en la séptima planta
del Gran Meliá Fénix. El nuevo comedor,
bautizado así en recuerdo al
lugar del que partió Colón con destino
a América en Palos de Moguer,
cuenta con una cocina de mestizaje
mediterráneo. Íntimo, solo cuenta
con espacio para 16 comensales en
su interior y 16 en la terraza, con privilegiadas
vistas a la plaza Colón, en
la que confluyen los centros financiero,
turístico y del lujo en Madrid.
