lobby, the cocktail bar, the terrace and the infinity
pool.
The installation generated these spaces in a virtual
way, designing images as backlit planes of
the same. In this way, the actual space found
continuity in the virtual space through these
images, which expanded the architectural perception
of the stand by exceeding its limits in
depth and height.
As explained by Ramón Esteve himself, the
exhibition was inspired by the highest hotel
in Hong Kong’s harbour, and “has been created
through the conceptualization of different
rooms in one entire hotel”. Four environments
integrated in different tones, which merge into
the same colour palette, that has been generated
virtually through those backlit planes.
“The installation was created from considering
a contemporary hotel in a cosmopolitan
landscape, generating an area inspired by an
element abstraction of a maximum density
metropolis”. The nexus of union of all these
elements is Maderalia’s stand, which acts
as an articulation for the rest of the spaces,
manipulating sensations of perception
through a game of textures, proportions,
lights and colours.
The Lobby
According to the architect, “the exhibition
seeks to break with the contract concept,
trying to get away from the technical nature
that has always characterized these spaces
and to capture them in an artistic way”. The
Lobby is the main element, located virtually
on the eightieth-floor, and from which the
rooms descend.
The Cocktail Bar
Under this conceptual line, the Cocktail Bar
encourages the creation of a climate of relationship,
a more intimate area designed for
the night, which contrasts with the strength
of natural light during the day.
The Infinity-Pool
The purity of the white colour encompasses
the Infinity-Pool and transmits serenity and
peace that merge with the sky above the
maelstrom of the city. Water acts as an element
of connection with that moment of reflection
and with the horizon represented by
the skyscrapers.
The Skybar
The feeling of weightlessness materializes in
this area, an outer space whose leading presence
focuses on the skyline of the city as a
backdrop.
